Bey Rivals ranked is the competitive ladder in the Roblox spinning-top battler from BBR Productions: you queue against other players, and every match moves a rating called ELO. The rules and numbers below come from the developer's Discord patch notes, as recorded by fan trackers; the developer does not publish them on Roblox, and we have not tested them ourselves.
How to unlock Bey Rivals ranked
Ranked unlocks at player level 5, and you level up by battling to earn XP. The PLAY menu lists Friendly Match, Ranked and Custom Opponent, so play friendly matches until you reach level 5. They pay BP and XP, while bot battles pay only half, so fights against real players level you faster. New to the game? Start with the Bey Rivals beginner guide.
Bey Rivals ranked matchmaking rules
The October 25 update reworked ranked matching. The current rules are:
- Ranked is players only, with no bot opponents.
- Your first 5 games are placement games.
- After placement, you are matched with players within 100 ELO of you.
- Battle Power no longer affects ELO.
- After you lose to a player, you cannot meet them again until you have played 5 more ranked games.
- The Top 5 players only face each other.
- You can challenge a player to a ranked 1v1.
- A Queue Again button lets you re-queue after a match.
The full patch log is on Bey Rivals updates.
How ELO moves
ELO is the rating Bey Rivals ranked uses to match you, and how much you gain or lose depends on the rating of the player you face.
| Result | Opponent | ELO change |
|---|---|---|
| Win | Equal rating | About +20 |
| Win | Higher rating | Up to +40 |
| Win | Lower rating | Down to +10 |
| Loss | Equal rating | -20 |
| Loss | Higher rating | -8 |
| Loss | Lower rating | -30 |
Close wins and perfect plays add up to +6 on top. Quitting a match costs 10 ELO extra. Beating a stronger player pays the most, and losing to a weaker one costs the most.
Ranked rewards
Bey Rivals ranked rewards start with 1 Spin Ticket for every win. The first time you reach each tier in a season, you also get BP, Spin Tickets and exclusive cosmetics, and ranked matches pay full BP and XP. One Spin Ticket buys a Standard banner summon, the same as 400 BP, so ten wins are worth ten spins; Bey Rivals spin rates has the odds, and the Bey Rivals BP guide lists other income. Season length, tier names and the exact season rewards are not published yet.
2v2 and 3v3
Park 2v2 and 3v3 are player-versus-player modes, and ranked 2v2 and 3v3 queues also exist. A 3v3 is played as a relay of 1v1s. If a team queue does not fill within a minute, bots fill the empty spots; how those matches count toward ELO is not published. Quests for 2v2 or 3v3 matches pay hundreds of BP, so team play is worth a try even when you are not chasing rank. Clubs of up to 10 players have their own ELO and leaderboard; see Bey Rivals clubs.
Tips for climbing
- Do not quit. Leaving a match costs 10 ELO on top of the usual loss.
- Know your buttons. A perfect launch, a timed Brace and fast clash clicking decide close games; the Bey Rivals controls page lists every key.
- Practise before you queue. Friendly matches pay BP and XP. Rui's Training, added on October 25, builds a practice opponent from any layer, disc and driver at levels 1 to 100 and five difficulties from Rookie to Legend, but it pays no BP or XP. Talk to Rui next to the Training Hall stadium; the bug-fix patch later that day says Volt now runs training there.
- Bring a top-tier bey. The Bey Rivals tier list ranks every known bey by rarity and patch direction.
- Build the whole bey. A layer is one part; levelled Bey Rivals parts and a good Bey Rivals surnames roll add stats on top.
- Win clashes with timing, not speed. Clashes are won by spam-clicking, but the rate has been capped at 8 clicks per second since October 25. The winner takes no damage, and winning a clash at the rails gives a 25 percent ring-out chance.
- Tap Brace just before a hit lands for a perfect guard.
