This Bey Rivals beginner guide covers your first hour in BBR Productions' free Roblox spinning-top battler: the starter pick, launching, winning a round and ranked. It is not Beyblade Burst Rivals, the 2018 mobile game. The rules below come from the developer's Discord patch notes, as recorded by fan trackers, and from creator videos; the developer does not publish them on Roblox, and we have not tested them ourselves.
Bey Rivals beginner guide: what the game is
You build a bey from three parts won in summons: a layer (the bey itself), a disc and a driver, plus a launcher. Then you battle other players and NPC bladers, with up to 25 players per server. The game went public around October 21, 2026 and is patched every one to three days; the Bey Rivals updates log tracks each change.
Pick your starter bey
The tutorial offers three starter layers. Summons give you more, so the starter is a first bey, not a final one.
- Vector Valkyra (Attack, Rare) has SS Attack and a passive that adds 20 percent burst damage. It was buffed on October 22 and is the best starter for most new players.
- Kaiser Cerberon (Defense) was raised to Legendary on October 25. Pick it for a sturdier start.
- Yonder Yggdrasil (Stamina) is the third choice. Little else is published.
Vector Valkyra and Kaiser Cerberon both sit in A tier on the Bey Rivals tier list.
Controls and launching
The Bey Rivals controls in short:
- Keyboard: WASD to move, SPACE for your driver's move, R for your layer's first move (G and V unlock as it levels up), E to Awaken, plus Brace and Counter buttons.
- Controller: X, B and Y for moves, D-pad up to Awaken, and mash L1 and R1 in clashes.
- Mobile: controls are not published.
Launching is skill-based. Aim with the mouse or WASD, then press Q on the 3-2-1 countdown as each shrinking ring meets the circle. A good timing earns the Power Launch bonus, and a weak launch leaves you at a disadvantage. Since October 25, a perfect launch needs every bubble hit.
How to win a round
Your Spin bar works like health: if it runs out, you lose the round by spin finish. Otherwise:
- Burst: break all of a bey's burst locks and it bursts. A burst finish is worth 2 points.
- Ring-out: winning a clash at the rails gives a 25 percent ring-out chance, and a ring-out from a lost clash ends the round at once.
- Clash: spam-click to win, capped at 8 clicks per second. The winner takes no damage and regains a little spin.
- Brace and Counter: tap Brace right before a hit for a perfect guard. Counters landed count toward counter quests.
- Awakening: each layer has its own, used with E when ready. Since October 22 it hits harder and lasts longer.
Your first summons and quests
Your first tutorial spin is free. After that, a Standard summon costs 400 BP or 1 Spin Ticket, and ten cost 3,600 BP. The Bey Rivals spin rates page has the odds and pity, and the working Bey Rivals codes are worth redeeming before you spend anything.
Quests sit in Daily, Weekly and Season tabs, and a 2v2 or 3v3 quest pays hundreds of BP. A 7-day gift streak on the Store front page pays 10 Spin Tickets and 1,000 BP on day 7. The Bey Rivals BP guide lists every other source.
Bey Rivals beginner guide: ranked at level 5
Ranked unlocks at player level 5, earned by battling for XP. Friendly matches pay BP and XP, bots pay half, and weekends give 1.5x XP (Saturday and Sunday, UTC).
Practise first in Rui's Training, where you build an opponent at level 1 to 100 on five difficulties; it pays no BP or XP. Ranked uses real players only, runs five placement games, then matches you within 100 ELO, and pays 1 Spin Ticket per win. The Bey Rivals ranked guide has the ELO numbers.
