Bey Rivals Controls: Keyboard, Controller and Launch Timing

Bey Rivals controls on PC and controller: how to hit a perfect launch, the R, G and V moves, Awakening, Brace, Counter and how to win clashes.

Bey Rivals controls come down to a handful of inputs: Q to launch, WASD to move, SPACE for your driver's move, R, G and V for your layer's moves, and E to Awaken. This is the full reference for BBR Productions' free Roblox spinning-top battler, and it goes deeper than the Bey Rivals beginner guide. The details below come from the developer's Discord patch notes and the in-game screens, as recorded by fan trackers; the developer does not publish them on Roblox, and we have not tested them ourselves.

Bey Rivals controls on keyboard

These are the default Bey Rivals keybinds on PC. The tutorial teaches SPACE, R and E, and fan trackers list the rest.

The Bey Rivals controls for launching, Brace and Counter on a controller are not published. Roblox lists no platform restriction for the game, but mobile controls are not documented yet.

How to get a perfect launch

Launching is skill-based, and a weak launch leaves you at a disadvantage. Aim with the mouse or WASD first. On the 3-2-1 countdown, shrinking rings close on a circle, and you press Q as each one meets it. Since October 25, a Bey Rivals perfect launch needs every bubble hit, and it gives you a Power Launch at the start of the round.

The timing window is not published, so repetition is the only way to learn it. Bey Rivals training is a free fight with no BP or XP at stake, a low-risk place to repeat launches.

Moves, Awakening and Ultimates

Every layer has a passive, an Awakening and three moves on R, G and V. The second and third unlock as you level the layer. Vector Valkyra, for example, has Rush Shoot, Flash Shoot and Jet Shoot, plus a passive that adds 20 percent burst damage. The Bey Rivals parts guide covers levels.

Press E (D-pad up on a controller) to Awaken once it is ready. Each layer has its own Awakening, and the October 22 update made it hit harder, take less damage and last longer. An option also turns off the Awakening cutscene.

Beys also have an Ultimate with its own meter. Since the October 25 rebalance, Attack types fill it more slowly, while Lone Longinox charges faster. Two Ultimates that hit each other always clash. The key for an Ultimate is not published. The Bey Rivals tier list shows how those changes moved each bey.

Brace, Counter and clash clicking

Tap Brace right before each hit lands for a perfect guard; the October 25 patch notes list Brace as working again. Counters landed with the Counter button count toward counter quests, which the bug-fix patch that day repaired. No source gives a timing window for either.

Clashes are won by spam-clicking, capped at 8 clicks per second since October 25. The winner takes no damage and regains a little spin. Win a clash at the rails and the loser has a 25 percent chance to ring out; otherwise they lose spin and 1 burst lock. The bug-fix patch also made ring-outs from lost clashes end the round at once and ring-outs from regular hits slightly rarer. Every one of the Bey Rivals controls above matters most in Bey Rivals ranked, and each patch is logged on Bey Rivals updates.
